A Passenger Hog-Tied With Cling Wrap Was Just One of the Terrible Events on This Flight

With one passenger hog-tied by cling wrap, a fistfight and one smoker in the toilet, it turned out to be an eventful flight for travelers on a recent Phuket-bound Nordwind Airlines service. The plane had to be diverted to Uzbekistan and three men were arrested upon the flight’s arrival in Thailand.

Passengers on a recent Phuket-bound Nordwind Airlines flight suffered through three in-flight incidents involving intoxicated and disruptive travelers, reports Metro.co.uk.

The first incident occurred when a man attempted to open the cabin door. The outlet reports that cling wrap was used to restrain the passenger and that the plane was diverted to Uzbekistan.

Elena Demidova, a TV reporter who was traveling on the flight, offered an eyewitness account of the incident, which was quoted by the outlet.

“The first half of the flight was normal, but then I noticed strange activity among stewardesses. People in the cabin were whispering to each other that a doctor was called for somebody. Then on the intercom, they asked if anybody had plastic food wrap,” she said.

“Suddenly the sign fasten your seat belts began to flash. Why? Minutes later the captain explained a passenger in the rear of the plane was drunk and rowdy,” continued Demidova.

She added, “A doctor tried to calm him. Then tougher measures were taken. They tried to use plastic food wrap to tie him. Seven people were holding him, but nothing helped.”

As if this incident wasn’t enough, two additional incidents – which saw two passengers fight each other and another begin to smoke in the plane’s toilet – capped off the journey. The three passengers were all arrested upon the plane’s arrival in Thailand.

Offering her final assessment of the journey, Demidova was quoted as saying, “It is the first time when my flight is so rich in events. Thanks that all of us are alive.”

Plastic food wrap was the first thing that came to mind when wanting to redtrain someobe? Now that is funny. Is it some sort of sex practice?

Having seen some passengers from Russia landing in Phuket I am not surprised. I remember landing there shortly after a TransAero flight and the number of people in the immigration queue swigging neat vodka direct from the bottle despite clearly having consumed alcohol on the flight was extraordinary. I am amazed some of them managed to stay upright.
