British Airways joins low-cost competitors Ryanair and easyJet in offering direct flights from London to Krakow in 2015.

Travelers looking to visit Poland’s second-largest city will soon have a new option when it comes to choosing direct flights from London. The Telegraph reports British Airways will begin offering direct flights from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice (KRK) in May 2015.

According to Travel Weekly, the new service will be served by British Airways’ Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft four times per week. Krakow is the second Polish location served by the British flag carrier, which also flies direct from LHR to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) in the country’s capital.

Data provided by KRK suggests an increased demand for service motivated British Airways to establish the direct route. The airport reports nearly one million flyers traveled between KRK and the U.K. in 2013, reflecting a 12 percent increase over the previous year.

“With a sizable Polish community in London, we know the route will be popular with Poles visiting friends and relatives,” Neil Cottrell, head of planning for British Airways, told Travel Weekly. “It will also serve our business travelers well as Krakow is an important economic hub which has seen significant U.K. investment and trade.”

Currently, direct flights from Britain to KRK are only available on low-cost competitors Ryanair and easyJet. The Telegraph reports British Airways’ one-way fares from LHR to KRK will be available for as little as $58.
