300 Passengers Delayed at Singapore Airport for Over 18 Hours

Reported mechanical faults caused approximately 300 China Airlines passengers to be delayed for over 18 hours Monday. Originally scheduled to leave Monday afternoon from Singapore, their flight, CI754 to Tapei, didn’t leave until Tuesday at 10:53 a.m.

Passengers were asked to board, then asked to deplane a total of three times.

Flyers who didn’t decide to catch alternative flights were provided with dinner vouchers, though some refused to board the final flight due to skepticism surrounding the aircraft’s well-being.

At least they let the pax out. Not like my Western airline experience where you can spend hours in the can while they try to fix the ventilation ....

SIN airport is essentially a free club lounge. Couches everywhere, free wifi, 24 hour food. tons of outdoor gardens. There are worse places to spend 18 hours.

I know, this is bad it happens, but havent mechanical issues often plagued aircraft? It seems the airline didnt have spare aircraft to send to singapore. I understand the customers wishing to not take the flight, but I probably would have taken the flight and not worried much. No doubt the airlines past history is plaguing it as I remember a similar story about a delta plane that was delayed a good 10 or so hours (LHR)but didnt get people questioning the safety.
