£26 Million FlyShip to Revolutionize Travel, Defy Pirates

The FlyShip, which hovers just above the ocean surface and can reach speeds of over 155 mph (250 km/h), boasts that it will revolutionize travel across the ocean, and the German engineers behind it think that it could even be used to stop pirates.

The vessel reportedly holds up to 100 passengers, costs £26 million (about $37 million USD), and has a wingspan of 40 meters (131 ft.) The engineering team explained that it is able to stay hovering above the water by creating a cushion of air beneath the wings, keeping it airborne, and could have military applications as well as anti-piracy missions, leaving standard jet liners in the dust.
