15.6 Million Passengers Expected for Labor Day

In a 4% increase from 2015’s Labor Day time period, the upcoming seven-day Labor Day travel holiday (Aug. 31 through Sept. 6) 15.6 million US passengers are expected to fly, says the airline industry trade group Airlines for America (A4A). The trade group believes that one factor for the surge in business could be 5.2% decrease in fare price since this time last year, and down 6% since the beginning of A4A further reports that ten U.S. carriers — Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, United and Virgin America — collectively reported a profit of about $12 billion before taxes.
