Connectivity, Convenience, and Partnerships Planned for Delta’s Next 100 Years
The Atlanta-based airline presented their vision for the future during the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Digital Tools Crucial to Pre-Flight and In-Flight Satisfaction
For Delta customers, the journey begins before they step foot on an aircraft. To help travelers have a better experience at the airport and between flights, the airline is implementing new tools into their Fly Delta smartphone app.
Called Delta Concierge, the AI-powered tool will help to anticipate the flyer’s needs as they navigate their way from origin to destination. Delta Concierge will do everything from inform passengers of international travel requirements, including passport expiration and visa requirements and airport maps including the locations of TSA PreCheck checkpoints and Delta Sky Clubs. In the air, the app will help flyers connect seamlessly to in-flight entertainment, giving them a personalized experience on their phone or seatback screens.
But the experience doesn’t end with the flight. Delta is also partnering with Uber and Joby Aviation inside Concierge to help travelers complete the final mile of their trip, while allowing them to earn SkyMiles when booking an Uber ride or delivery.
Aboard the aircraft, new features are coming to the in-flight entertainment suite as well. Delta announced a partnership with YouTube to provide content from the video sharing platform aboard flights. The Google-owned company will join Delta Sync, which allows flyers to enjoy ad-free entertainment from creators, podcast hosts, and music artists.
Finally, Delta announced they will deepen their relationship with aircraft manufacturer Airbus to improve future flight operations. According to Delta CEO Ed Bastian, the airline operates the highest number of Airbus airframes in the world.
The partnership will focus on three areas, including linking a network of innovation labs dedication to everything from making flights more environmentally sustainable to researching future aircraft needs. The pair will also work on a flight operation plan which will allow aircraft to fly in pairs to become more efficient. Finally, Airbus and Delta will pair together to join the Minnesota SAF Hub, which will aim to provide more sustainable aviation fuel to the carrier.
The two companies are using technology to not only improve the customer experience but also reach the industry goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
