Korean Air Flight Attendant Sues Airline & Former Executive in “Nutgate” Scandal

A Korean Air flight attendant is suing her employer and one of its former executives, claiming she deserves to be compensated for the “Nutgate” scandal that took place December 5, 2014. The flight attendant, Kim Do-hee, filed the suit on Monday in hopes of repairing the damage the incident did to her career, emotional well-being and reputation.

“Nutgate” — sometimes referred to as “Nut Rage” — occurred when Cho Hyun-ah, former executive and daughter of the airline’s chairman, sparked a confrontation with crew members on a Korean Air flight that was departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). On of being verbally and physically assaulted on the flight, Kim claims that she was later forced to appear in public with Cho as part of a ploy to restore the former executive’s image.
