Korean Air’s new business class product features wider seats, privacy panels and direct aisle access for every seat.

Dedicated to improving their in-flight product, Korean Air announced the launch of Prestige SuitesSkift reports the new business class product is the first step toward a complete premium overhaul for the Asian SkyTeam member.

The Prestige Suites offer convertible seats, each with direct access to the aisle through a staggered configuration. According to the Korean Air website, the 21.6-inch wide seats convert to a fully flat-bed seat, with select seats featuring an ottoman for flyers’ use. In addition, each seat features retractable armrest, allowing for more room when the seat is converted into a bed.

An improved in-flight entertainment system is included as part of the upgrade as well. The new seats each feature a 17-inch screen that can either be operated by touch or via a smartphone-style remote control. The entertainment system will feature many options from Korea and the U.S., as well as an interactive airshow map displaying the flight path and airspeed. The Prestige Suites also feature traditional and USB power outlets.

Flyers in the Prestige Suites will each be treated to DAVI amenity kits, which feature a number of cosmetics and toiletry items. As part of the flying experience, Prestige Suites flyers can also request an in-flight wakeup call and use of showers and saunas at the Grand Hyatt Incheon Hotel when arriving at Incheon International Airport (ICN).

Skift reports the new Prestige Suites will be featured first on Airbus A330-300 flying to Guangzhou, Hanoi and Singapore. The Prestige Suites will ultimately be added to more of the airline’s long-haul aircraft, including Boeing 747-8, 777-300ER and 787-9.

An upgrade to Korean Air’s first class is expected later this year.
