In Brief: U.S. Airlines Plan Flights to Cuba as Restrictions Ease

President Obama announced Thursday that effective today, restrictions on travel by U.S. citizens to Cuba that have remained in place for over five decades will be considerably lessened. These new policies now allow opportunities for U.S. airlines to add scheduled services to Cuba.

“As we review the changes to the regulatory requirements, we applaud the Obama administration’s move to continue reducing barriers to travel for the benefit of our customers,” an unnamed United representative told Skift.com.
