Vietnam Airlines Flight Lands on Runway Under Construction

On Sunday, a Vietnam Airlines flight carrying over 200 passengers touched down at Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) on what turned out to be the airport’s as-yet-uncompleted second runway instead of the main runway. The aircraft’s engines reportedly sucked up “a number of foreign objects from the runway surface.”

The crew responsible for the landing has been suspended by the carrier.
