JetBlue Passengers Booted for Chastising Ivanka Trump

The President-elect’s daughter reportedly caught an earful on a JetBlue flight this Thursday, but the tough critic of her father’s policies was soon removed from the flight.

The soon-to-be First Daughter of the United States was confronted when she and her family boarded a JetBlue flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on their way to an extended family Hawaiian vacation. Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner and three children were reportedly accosted by two strangers who objected to flying on the same plane as the controversial family.

According to a report from TMZ, a married couple onboard the flight loudly berated the President-elect’s daughter while she attempted to distract her children from the commotion with crayons and coloring pages. “Your father is ruining the country,” one of the two passengers allegedly said. “Why is she on our flight? She should be flying private.”

Witnesses say that the man then continued his tirade even as he was being escorted from the plane, screaming, “You’re kicking me off for expressing my opinion?!”

One of the men involved in allegedly harassing the family soon took to social media to complain that his husband had been treated unfairly. “Ivanka and Jared on our flight,” Mathew Lasner tweeted. “My husband expressed displeasure in a calm tone, JetBlue staff overheard and they kicked us off the plane.”

The assertion seemed to be disproven by a tweet moments earlier which did not indicate a “calm tone” could be anticipated. “Ivanka and Jared at JFK T5, flying commercial,” Lasner wrote. “My husband chasing them down to harass them. #BanalityofEvil.”

“The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly,” JetBlue told ABC News in a statement. “If the crew determines that a customer is causing conflict on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation during flight. In this instance, our team worked to re-accommodate the party on the next available flight.”

The network also reported that Secret Service agents were traveling with the family to Hawaii, but were not involved in removing the pair of accused troublemakers from the aircraft.
