Three NBA Teams Boycott Trump Hotels
Several NBA teams are taking a stand against president-elect Donald Trump by boycotting his hotels.
Some NBA teams are banding together in the continuing fight against a Donald Trump presidency – by refusing to stay at his hotels. Three teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Dallas Mavericks have announced they will no longer stay at Trump-branded hotels in order to avoid an association with the man. According to ESPN, another Eastern Conference team has made the decision to switch a current hotel contract from the Trump SoHo to another hotel without his branding.
A number of NBA coaches and officials have openly voiced their lack of support for Trump, including Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy, Golden State coach Steve Kerr, and San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich.
The Bucks are reported to have stayed at the Trump Hotel in Chicago in October for an exhibition game, though the team tried to cancel the reservation but ran into issues that forced them to stay there.
Several other unnamed NBA teams who have stayed at Trump SoHo in the past told ESPN that they will no longer stay there, though they did not mention any political motivation for the switch, and some teams say they’ve never stayed at Trump hotels.
According to Yahoo Sports, the NBA has a long history of support for diversity, environmental issues, and LGBTQ rights. This boycott of Trump-branded properties comes as no surprise to those following the political climate of American basketball.

As a private business organization, I support the NBA's decision to take a stand and only do business based on what it perceives as the right thing. However... Why is the NBA not boycotting *all* Chicago hotels until the city does something to STOP the numerous senseless shootings every single week? Enough is enough. The city of Chicago or the state of Illinois must do something more drastic to stop the violence. Call up the national guard if the Chicago police or city government can't do anything about it.

The City of Vancouver, BC has requested that the new Trump hotel be rebranded. They don't want a tower in their city associated with this orange creature whose platform is based on hate.. I'm sure many other cities will follow. Never been an NBA fan, I am now.
