Boeing Has Assisted in Developing World’s Lightest Metal
A partnership between Boeing and LHR Laboratories has resulted in the development of the world lightest metal, a 100 times lighter than styrofoam. The microlattice, which has been awarded the Guinness World Record for lightest metal, is constructed from nickel phosphorus and imitates human cell structure. The ultra-thin metal is so light that it can be balanced on top of a dandelion seed head.
