United Is Making Bags Out of Banners

United Airlines is turning old company banners and billboards once placed at airports such as O’Hare International Airport (ORD) into travel accessories, something people can perhaps carry as luggage.

“Rather than put them in landfills, we decided to try to find something creative to do with them,” said airlines spokeswoman Maddie King.

In 2015, United also used the banners to make carry-on backpacks and duffel bags.
