AA Engine Part Falls Out Mid-Flight

An American Airlines flight from Phoenix to San Francisco was forced to return to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) shortly after take-off when an engine part fell off mid-flight. A section of an engine cowling on flight 403 came loose and fell from the plane, and was later recovered by airport officials in Phoenix. No injuries were reported to flight crew or passengers, and the plane landed safely without any further mishaps, according to American Airlines spokesperson Polly Tracey. The Airbus A320 was carrying 136 passengers at the time, and later arrived at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) after a two-hour delay.
