No Jail Time for ‘Vile’ Ranting Passenger

Scott O’Neill, 40, will receive no jail time after his tirade aboard a Thomson Airlines flight from Manchester to Cancun, Mexico.

O’Neill told passengers, “I’m your worst nightmare” and yelled “This is it – we’re going to die.” He called cabin crew “Teletubbies” before yelling, “How long does it take to get a ****ing drink?”

When crew asked him to calm down he replied, “Don’t patronise me. This is supposed to be a Dreamliner. We’ve been waiting two ***ing hours for a drink.” Crew again asked him to calm down, to which he replied, “I told you once. Don’t tell me what to do, you little ***k.” He also directed homophobic slurs at the crew. He was met by police upon landing.

O’Neill admitted he had been drinking and had taken medication.

His lawyer told the court the incident was “very unpleasant indeed” and “vile” but noted that O’Neill’s actions were “completely out of character.”

After he admitted to three public order offences, O’Neill was given a 10-week suspended prison sentence, 100 hours’ unpaid work, £240 in fines and was ordered to pay compensation totaling £800 to his victims.

The guy was flying a Thomson Holiday Charter not Emirates First Class. I once waited over 5 hours on a First Class Transatlantic flight for initial service, on this occasion caused by turbulent weather. If the guy needed drink within a 2 hour period he has a problem and needs help. Not more drink..assume he wanted Alcohol rather than water.
