Mid-Air Explosion Allegedly Caused by Suicide Bomber

A Daallo Airlines flight to Djibouti–Ambouli International Airport (JIB) experienced a mid-air explosion Monday that was reportedly the work of a suicide bomber. The passenger who was sucked out of the aircraft allegedly set off a bomb onboard. He was able to “bypass rigorous security screening in Mogadishu” via a wheelchair, according to The Wall Street Journal.

As Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle famously said: think of it as evolution in action. Am I sorry that a bomber has departed the gene pool on a one-way ticket? Not remotely. The question is whether the evolutionary trend it indicates is to fewer bombers, or smarter ones.
