PHOTO: Pregnant Woman Isn’t Happy About Sleeping on Airport Floor
Virgin Australia is facing scrutiny from a 21-year-old pregnant woman who claims the airline forced her to sleep on the floor of Brisbane Airport (BNE). Meghan-Rachel Cochrane’s Virgin Australia flight was delayed on November 29 due to a severe storm, and, because the carrier allegedly did not provide overnight accommodation for the affected passengers, they were left stranded.
Cochrane, who was 36 weeks along in her pregnancy, said the staff informed her mother that the lounge was only available to business travelers and it wouldn’t be fair to the other passengers if she was allowed access to it.

I agree with danielchee. They did nothing wrong. There was a storm.
Surprised the airline would allow a woman who is that far along to travel their airline.
Travel insurance. Problem solved. Weather situations suck, everyone else is fine with the floor, if you can't deal, I'm sorry you've got to find a hotel.
While certainly not an ideal situation for a pregnant woman, I question the fact that she was flying at all in her 36th week (9th month) of pregnancy??? She admitted to having braxton hicks contractions (which can be a sign of pre-labor) all day. Does Virgin Australia not sell day-passes for their lounges? While Virgin Australia could have easily stepped up to the plate to allow her an exception to the lounge, I really think the flyer should have thought her travel plans through a bit further.
I asked by baby sister, an OB/GYN. Her opinion: Women who undertake air travel at 36 weeks may be playing with less than a full deck.
