Passengers Face Delays, Cancellations After Volcano Erupts
Flights going in and out of Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Bali have been delayed or canceled Tuesday and Wednesday after the Mount Rinjani volcano erupted, leaving hundreds of passengers in limbo.
A DPS official said, “The wind has blown the volcanic ash toward Bali in such a way that it covers the sky around the airport, making conditions unsuitable for flying.” The airport is set to be closed until Thursday morning.
