Earn 10 Priority Club Points Per Dollar at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts Properties in North America

Instead of earning 2,000 Priority Club frequent guest loyalty program points per stay at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in North America, you will be able to instead earn 10 Priority Club points per dollar beginning on February 15, 2012.

This change in earnings for stays at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean is in line with earning Priority Club points at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express hotel brands worldwide.

For stays at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts outside of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean — plus all InterContinental Alliance Resorts worldwide — you will still receive 2,000 Priority Club points per qualifying stay, or the applicable airline frequent flier loyalty program miles.

Whether this change in earning Priority Club points for stays at InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in North America is perceived as positive or negative depends on your point of view:

  • If you spend $200.00 per stay at an InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in North America, the change will make no difference to you.
  • If you spend greater than $200.00 per stay at an InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in North America, you will benefit from the change in earning Priority Club points.
  • If you spend fewer than $200.00 per stay at an InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties in North America, the change will be only slightly negative for you — after all, how many InterContinental Hotels and Resorts properties can you spend significantly less than $200.00 per stay?

With the above examples, this change is mostly positive — but do not take my word for it. Read about what other FlyerTalk members think about this change.
