Strike Affects Air France Operations

Qantas Airways and Air Canada are not the only airlines currently experiencing labour disputes. Starting today until Wednesday, 2 November 2011, if you are scheduled to be a passenger on an Air France flight, you may need to alter your travel plans.

The following information is from the Internet web site of Air France in the United States:

Several Commercial Crew unions have called for an industrial action from Saturday October 29 to Wednesday November 02, 2011 included. We are compelled to reduce our flight schedule accordingly and we do not exclude “on the spot” cancellations as well as delays.
We apologize to customers affected by this situation and will do our utmost to reduce any inconvenience.

Before going to the airport, we invite you to check our up-to-date flight information (for today and tomorrow):
– On this website, through the ” Flight and destination information” section
– On our mobile and Air France applications click “Flight updates in real time”

If you wish to be contacted in case of schedule modifications, we recommend you update your contact on this website in the “Booking & online check-in” section, by clicking on “Manage your reservation”.

We have implemented commercial measures to enable you to modify your journey planned from October 29 to November 02, whether your flight is cancelled or not.

The following solutions may be offered until November 30, 2011.

– If you wish to travel from November 03 to December 09, 2011 included, the modification of your booking is possible free of charge in the same cabin of travel, irrespectively of the fare paid.

– If you wish to travel from December 10, 2011 to May 13, 2012, the modification of your booking is possible free of charge at the same fare, according to availability, or by paying the difference with a higher fare.

In these two cases, you may change your reservation online*, through the “Manage your reservations” feature.

Other possible options:
– You may change your destination or point of origin, or postpone your travel after May 13, 2012:
Please contact your usual point of sales before November 30, 2011.

– If your flight has been cancelled or delayed by more than 5 hours, you may require a refund, and your ticket will be fully refunded, except the service fee.
We invite you to fill in the refund form available through the “Manage your reservations / Obtain a refund online” feature on this website.

* Subject to eligibility. If the service is not available, please contact Air France (phone number available on this website in the “Contact us” section).
