A Hair-Raising Experience at an Airport Security Checkpoint

The incident of a woman who was stopped so that her hair can be inspected for weapons might “wig out” some people who may consider this to be the latest story regarding the follicles of the Transportation Security Administration and its security policies.

53-year-old Isis Brantley was reportedly in tears from humiliation as the Transportation Security Administration agent “started digging” through her hair in search of weapons after chasing her when she was apparently halfway between the airport security checkpoint in Atlanta and the gate to her flight to Dallas on American Airlines.

Although a Transportation Security Administration supervisor later apologized to her, a statement to a television station in Dallas says that “Brantley left the checkpoint area before screening was completed and she refused a private screening that was offered. Additional screening may be required for clothing, headwear or hair where prohibited items could be hidden.”

It is unknown as to whether or not an investigation will get to the root of this close shave Brantley experienced with a Transportation Security Administration agent.
