Earn Up to 2,000 Marriott Rewards Points in Seconds Per 30 Days — But…

Earn up to a maximum of 2,000 bonus Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points every 30 days when you register and perform qualifying designated actions through your social media profiles through November 8, 2014 are eligible to earn bonus Marriott Rewards points through Plus Points – a program which is currently in beta mode.

Here is a chart illustrating how and when you can earn bonus Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points:

Click on the chart to access the frequently asked questions area of the official Internet web site of the Marriott Rewards Plus Points program.

As the chart shows, you are limited to one qualifying social action — such as sharing or “re-tweeting” content on Facebook or Twitter; social check-in or post geotagged photos on Facebook, Instagram, or Foursquare; write hashtags on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram — every 24 hours to earn bonus Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points, which will be awarded to your account in near real-time once you have completed your qualifying social action. Additionally, bonus Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points will be awarded to your account after one week of liking or following a “page” or account on Facebook or Twitter.

A list of participating hotel properties from the Marriott, Renaissance and Autograph Collection brands — some containing links for your convenience — can be found in a WikiPost maintained by FlyerTalk members in this discussion.

You are not eligible for this promotion if you elect to earn frequent flier loyalty program miles instead of Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points from your stays at participating hotel and resort properties — and this promotion is not available for Ritz-Carlton Rewards accounts, which can be converted to Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program accounts in order to participate in this promotion.

No reservation at a hotel property is required to do a “social check-in” — an activity in a social channel which you can perform on Facebook or Foursquare that shows your friends where you are located. For example, if you are visiting the restaurant, you can “check in” via Facebook or Foursquare as this is not tied to checking into a guest room.

Because of potential privacy issues apparently implied by the disclosure which appears when registering, FlyerTalk member mikelcf will pass on this promotion: “Marriott Rewards Plus Points will receive the following info: your public profile, friend list, email address, News Feed, relationships, relationship interests, birthday, notes, status updates, checkins, education history, events, groups, hometown, interests, current city, photos, questions, religious and political views, personal description and likes.”

Regardless, FlyerTalk members have reported scoring quick Marriott Rewards frequent guest loyalty program points for only a minute worth of effort. “Signed up and connected facebook and found 4 pages to like for an easy 1000 pts”, declared FlyerTalk member cba13.

If you are really into social media for personal purposes, this promotion is a “no-brainer”; but this promotion is useless if you do not have an account on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare — and you have no intention of launching an account on any of these products of social media anytime soon.
