You can save up to 50 percent on the redemption on Flying Blue frequent flier loyalty program miles with Promo Awards — which are available exclusively at the official Internet web site of the Flying Blue frequent flier loyalty program — when booked by May 31, 2014 for travel between July 1, 2014 and August 31,2014.

New destinations are offered on the first of every month; and you can book your award travel reservations as early as two months ahead of the travel period.

The following routes qualify for a discount of 50 percent off of the redemption of your Flying Blue frequent flier loyalty program miles for a seat in the business class cabin between Europe and:

  • Dallas, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Washington, D.C., operated by Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Cayenne, operated by Air France
  • Pointe à Pitre, operated by Air France
  • Saint Maarten, operated by Air France
  • Cairo, operated by Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Nouakchott, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Beijing, operated by Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

  • Hangzhou, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Hong Kong, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • Amman, operated by Air France
  • Beirut, operated by Air France
  • Kiev, operated by Air France

This is two more routes than a similar promotion from October 2013, where seats in the business class cabin are available in return for the redemption of half of the Flying Blue frequent flier loyalty program miles normally required.

A limited amount of other award redemption opportunities are either available for seats in either the Premium Economy or economy class cabins; for a discount of 25 percent; or both.

  • Reservations must be booked exclusively at the official Internet web sites of Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
  • In the event that a technical problem occurs when reserving the promotional fare or if the reservation cannot be finalised, you must log on to the site and repeat the procedure
  • This award ticket may be used on connecting flights within Europe and on connecting flights from Europe to long-haul flights and vice-versa
  • These promotional Promo Award may not be modified, cancelled or refunded
  • Promo Award are available for one-way tickets and round trip flights
  • Flex Award are not included in the Promo Award offer

Other terms and conditions apply.

Although the Promo Awards for May could potentially be beneficial to you for discounted travel on select routes, watch out for the taxes and fees which you may be charged to ensure that taking advantage of this promotion is worth it to you…

…as this promotion is apparently not worth it to a number of FlyerTalk members who are underwhelmed about the promotion for this month — but if traveling as a passenger in a seat in the business class cabin is important to you, then the Promo Awards in May have improved over the ones offered both in April and in March, which apparently had no discounted travel in the business class cabin available.

Availability can be limited; so take advantage of this promotion as soon as you possibly can before availability runs out.
