“Effective 15 April 2014, 25 of our hotels and resorts (0.6% of our properties) will be increasing hotel category, and 14 of our hotels and resorts (0.3% of our properties) will be decreasing hotel category”, according to FlyerTalk member and official company representative HHonorsRepresentative. “We’ve made these modifications based on periodic review of our hotel reward categories as new hotels join the program and market dynamics change. The Hilton HHonors Standard Room Rewards Point Pricing Tool will reflect these changes as of April 15.”

The representatives of the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program will be shifting away from the cycle of annual reward category announcements. Instead, you will have full visibility into any hotel category adjustments — including “the introduction of new redemption hotels” — through an updated list of adjusted hotels at the official Internet web site of the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program on a periodic basis. “The updated list available via the Standard Room Rewards Update, which can be found on the HHonors.com Using Points page under Standard Room Hotel Categories”, posted HHonorsRepresentative.
There are no plans to implement major reward category changes — or major changes in general, for that matter — or add new hotel reward categories to the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program.
I suppose that is good news. The significant changes which were implemented last year — considered one of the most significant perceived devaluations of any frequent travel loyalty program to many FlyerTalk members — should be enough to last a few years while the “pain” still subsides…
…and the discontinuation of the Points and Fixed Miles earning style option which became effective as of January 6, 2014 did not exactly soften the perceived devaluation.
In other news, a new official representative of the Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program — who will be dedicated to answering your questions and sharing exclusive information ahead of upcoming offers which should be of interest to you — will be introduced on FlyerTalk in the coming weeks. “We fully understand that FlyerTalk is a place for our members to exchange knowledge and experiences and we respect the community-driven nature of the platform”, posted HHonorsRepresentative. “We also recognize that there are opportunities for us to provide added clarity around the HHonors program and we want to be that resource for you…As the FlyerTalk community consists of some of our most frequent guests, we hope to offer the level assistance you need to continue being the true experts of the HHonors program.”
