Starting today, you can earn double SkyMiles and double Medallion Qualification Miles as many times as you like through December 31, 2014 on the non-stop segments of flights whose origination or destination is Seattle and marketed and operated by either Delta Air Lines or Delta Connection — but you must first register for this promotion, as registration is required before purchasing and flying as a passenger on the flight; and only tickets purchased after registering for this promotion will qualify for the bonuses.

There is one major catch: only residents of the State of Washington — as determined by the address on file for your SkyMiles account — are eligible for this promotion.

Remember, however, that you must also accrue the minimum required amount of Medallion Qualification Dollars in addition to Medallion Qualification Miles in order to earn the desired level of SkyMiles Medallion elite status.

This promotion is actually a significant extension of a similar promotion announced this past November — but that promotion was good at only six domestic airports within the United States with service to and from Seattle. This current promotion is good for 30 destinations in countries such as South Korea, the Netherlands, China, Canada, Great Britain and Japan.

Regardless, this promotion — if you meet the required criteria — could be potentially lucrative for you in terms of the amount of SkyMiles you could earn; as well as how fast you can earn SkyMiles Medallion elite status for next year.
