Might the Four Points by Sheraton Galveston hotel property — which officially opened almost three years ago — one day participate in the SPG Hot Escapes program? You simply cannot get anything past sharp FlyerTalk members, who in this case caught a premature glimpse of a new program coming soon to the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest loyalty program: SPG Hot Escapes.

According to FlyerTalk member Starwood Lurker — who is also known as William Sanders, social media specialist and one of the official company representatives of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide on FlyerTalk — “SPG Hot Escapes will be revealed soon and will combine our other programs like Starpicks & Beat the Timer. Some of the comments discuss that there are errors in the advertised % discounts, eligibility for BRG rates – please be advised we are working on making modifications and the final product will be revealed shortly. Please keep your eyes open for our upcoming official announcement which we will post here when the site is up and ready.”

Beat the Timer is a little-known ongoing Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide promotion which has 72-hour deals on rooms in Europe and Africa — and one can view the rooms sorted in a choice of one of five different categories.

Starpicks is a program first launched in 2007 which allows you to reserve and book rooms at the last minute with a discount off of the regular rates at Starwood Hotel and Resorts properties around the world.

I cannot comment at this time on the new SPG Hot Escapes yet, as its official Internet web site is still buggy and details have not yet been revealed — but I hope to report on it once its introduction has been officially announced.
