If you enjoy being in Las Vegas and you are a Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program member, you are in luck.

Tropicana Las Vegas — a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel — is offering a promotion where you can earn quadruple the amount of Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program points for stays through August 31, 2013.

This means that you will receive a bonus of equal to three times the number of base Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program points earned during a stay — but the bonus points are not earned on taxes, gratuity and resort fees; nor do they count toward elite tier qualification.

If you prefer 20 percent off of the cost of expenditures instead of quadruple the amount of Hilton HHonors frequent guest loyalty program points, you are in luck, as you can save on services such as:

  • In-room dining
  • Specific treatments at Glow, a Mandara Spa
  • Dining at the restaurants and bars on premises
  • Show tickets to Laugh Factory

Despite which offer you choose, keep in mind that a deposit equal to the cost of the first night plus tax are due at time of booking your reservation. Early departure fees apply; and a 48-hour cancellation notice is required. This offer does not apply to group reservations. Rates do not include taxes, gratuities, incidental charges, casino gaming or applicable resort fees.

The terms and conditions state that this offer is not transferable and cannot be combined with any other Tropicana Las Vegas or Hilton HHonors offers, promotions or specials — but do not let that stop you from trying to “stack” other offers, promotions or specials, as you never know.

I am personally not one who enjoys Las Vegas, as I have been there a number of times and would not be particularly upset if I never returned — but that is just me. I have not yet been a guest or stayed at the Tropicana Las Vegas — a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, so I have no comment on the property itself.

The DoubleTree brand of Hilton Worldwide assumed control of the operations of the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas in October of 2012, which is nine months after the now-former Las Vegas Hilton became The Las Vegas Hotel & Casino due to the expiration of a license agreement with Hilton Worldwide as a result of the hotel property defaulting on a loan of $252 million in 2010.
