Effective as of March 1, 2013, Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest loyalty program members can earn 3,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after every three eligible nights — up to 45,000 bonus points, redeemable for free nights, room upgrades, and now dining and spa services — at any Hyatt hotel property worldwide effective through May 31, 2013 during what is being called the More Possibilities promotion.

Registration for the More Possibilities promotion begins on February 15, 2013 and ends on April 30, 2013.

In addition, holders of the Hyatt Credit Card will receive a 20 percent point bonus, which would yield 600 more bonus Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest loyalty program points after every three nights. With these additional bonus points, Hyatt Credit Card members can earn a maximum of 54,000 bonus Hyatt Gold Passport frequent guest loyalty program points during the More Possibilities promotion.

After much speculation before the official Hyatt Gold Passport promotion for the spring was announced, the response by FlyerTalk members has not exactly been favorable at this time. For example, FlyerTalk member RTW1 posts “What a stupid promotion… and again not much reason to stay at any of the more expensive properties. I’m sure promotions as a double points promotion work a lot better then these (decreasing) points per night promotions.”

Perhaps RTW1 was referring to the promotion currently under way by Hilton HHonors?

In my opinion, this promotion is tepid at best — especially when compared to promotions by Hyatt Gold Passport in the past — but it is better than nothing, I suppose. I enjoy staying at Hyatt hotel properties, but I think I will pass on this promotion…
