FlyerTalk member DLCorpGalNYC — who is one of the official company representatives of Delta Air Lines — announced the new Sky Deck outdoor terrace concept additions to Delta Sky Club airport lounges in Atlanta and New York.
Delta Air Lines has partnered with Architectural Digest to create and develop The Sky Deck and Delta Sky Club, which promise spectacular views of the tarmac and runways — perfect for many FlyerTalk members to pass the time.
The Sky Deck at the international airport in Atlanta will be located adjacent to the Sky Club in Concourse F, expected to open sometime this summer; while the Sky Deck at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York will be a rooftop terrace off of the new Sky Club in Terminal 4, expected to open in May.
Eagerly anticipating the opening of both Sky Decks, FlyerTalk members have posted mostly positive comments. — especially after viewing the artist renderings, courtesy of Delta Air Lines.
I enjoy being outdoors. I remember being at the public open air viewing area at Schipol International Airport in Amsterdam while watching the sun rise one morning in September of 2008. What a nice and relaxing way to pass the time while waiting for my flight — and the public open air viewing area does not look nearly as nice as the aesthetics of the new Delta Sky Decks.
In fact, I would not mind once again cutting the ribbon when either of the new Delta Sky Decks officially opens later this year.
I also enjoyed being outdoors at the airports in Honolulu and Singapore, as well as in Lexington, Kentucky. However, the Delta Sky Deck promises to expand upon that experience of being outdoors at the airport, offering those interested in commercial aviation views of aircraft that could only be rivaled by a visit on the tarmac itself; while others can relax while sipping on a drink or conduct business and get work done.
It seems like only yesterday when the Delta Sky Club at Concourse F was still under construction. How time flies…
