100% Bonus on Shared US Airways Dividend Miles — Maybe…

From now through October 31, 2012, receive a 100 percent bonus on the amount of Dividend Miles shared with the latest promotion by US Airways — but the promotion is capped at 50,000 Dividend Miles, and it is supposedly only for those Dividend Miles frequent flier loyalty program members who received the offer via e-mail message.

The value after taxes and fees during this promotion is 1.135 cents per Dividend Mile — even better than the 1.88125 cents per Dividend Mile you would have received had you participated in the promotion last month of 100 percent bonus on the amount of Dividend Miles purchased or gifted. However, this still means that you have to pay $567.50 for the maximum of 50,000 Dividend Miles, which some FlyerTalk members believe is not worth it.

This offer is worth considering — especially if you need to top off your US Airways Dividend Miles account for an award ticket that might otherwise cost more money in airfare than through the purchase of Dividend Miles.

Even more confusing is that some US Airways Dividend Miles frequent flier loyalty program members are receiving an offer of a 100 percent bonus on purchased Dividend Miles for the month of October. I know of at least one person who received the e-mail message today, and at the bottom reads “This offer is only valid for the member whose name and Dividend Miles number appears on this email.” I am not sure if this is in addition to or instead of the sharing Dividend Miles offer.

All purchases are non-refundable. This offer is not valid for US Airways Dividend Miles accounts fewer than twelve days old, so if you do not have a US Airways Dividend Miles account yet and want to take advantage of this promotion, register for an account now. Other restrictions may apply.

In the meantime, FlyerTalk members are already devising strategies on how to take full advantage of the offer to share US Airways Dividend Miles with each other for maximum gain
