Rooms for £1 Sale in London — But…

Starting at noon British Summer Time — not Greenwich Mean Time, as I originally erroneously stated — on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, The Hoxton Hotel in London is having a £1 sale on 500 of its rooms for stays between July 1, 2012 and September 30, 2012.

However, in order to secure a room at the sale rate, you not only need to be quick as these rooms are expected to sell out fast, but you must also answer four questions of general knowledge. Each question will be multiple choice with three possible answers. Incorrectly answer any of the questions and you will have an opportunity to start over again — but the questions will change every time you take the quiz. The fortunate person who answers all of the questions correctly while the rooms are still available at the £1 rate will be asked for his or her name and e-mail address — and then that person must act fast to book a room.

This promotion is not worth the effort for me. A room for £1 is certainly a good deal, but I am not certain as to whether or not that £1 room rate includes taxes and fees. Besides, other expenses still have to be considered, such as transportation to the Hoxton Hotel, food and beverages.

However, if you intend to be in London anyway and are looking for a bargain — and you are willing to go through the process of attempting to secure a room at the special £1 room rate without any guarantee that you will actually get it — this promotion may be worth the effort for you.

Good luck to you if you decide to participate.

Thank you for the correction, Ready2Go. Every minute counts for this promotion…

Caution: the sale takes place at noon UK time, NOT noon Greenwich Mean Time. The UK is now on British Summer Time, which is an hour ahead of GMT.
