Passenger Arrested for Retaliatory Groping of Transportation Security Administration Agent

Turnabout is apparently not fair play, as a passenger was reportedly arrested for battery and resisting an officer after she allegedly groped a Transportation Security Administration agent in a demonstration of how the Transportation Security Administration agent groped her at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers.

Carol Jean Price, who is 59 years old, was about to board an aircraft bound for Ohio when she was chosen for a “pat-down” at the airport security checkpoint. Angry about the extra screening procedure, Price supposedly asked to speak to a Transportation Security Administration supervisor and reached down to demonstrate by allegedly grabbing the leg and crotch area of the Transportation Security Administration agent, as she claimed had happened to her. She was reportedly arrested shortly thereafter.

Is it fair that you cannot grope Transportation Security Administration agents the exact same way in which they grope you during a “pat-down”? Is this a classic case of “Do as I say, not as I do”? FlyerTalk members discuss this topic, as well as debate the legal issues and their ramifications.

While I have no interest in groping Transportation Security Administration agents, I would like to know what you think of this story.

Please contact your congressman and senators. Ask that they work to withhold funding from TSA until the agency respects the Constitution and the traveling public, specifically:
    1. Remove and destroy all imaging machines that potentially can “see” under our clothing.
    2. End all invasive patdowns that involve touching genitalia unless there is probable cause to believe that the individual has committed a crime.
    3. Cease immediately harassment of people who assert their constitutional rights during airport screening.
Our representatives need to hear that we are outraged and want this stopped.
