worldwidedreamer Location: San Francisco Bay Area & Phoenix What is FlyerTalk to you? At a basic level FlyerTalk is the most influential online community for travelers. More broadly speaking it is one of the most successful early online communities, and one of the few to remain vibrant today. What has to change on FlyerTalk? The boards are cluttered with too many repetitive questions, i.e. Can I use a lounge in xyz situation?, in part because links to the wikis are not visible on the front page. As FT grows this means a higher percentage of noise. I prefer making information easier to find over making posting more difficult, for example by instituting a moderation system. What do you like best about FlyerTalk? I very much like the sense of community. FT is not just a useful place, but I've met some amazing people. State a platform motto or goals for FlyerTalk for the future. 1. Improved Usability Name your three favorite forums and why. I find my vacations through the Mileage Run forum: basically I wait for the best deal to appear from my origin city during the right time, most recently this meant a $187 fare LAX-EZE. I also very much like the warm community of the Continental forum. Finally the Travel Technology forum keeps on informing me of how to live better. |
