What is FlyerTalk to you?

A daily part of my life. Also, the only way to keep up with all the changes and cutbacks (a.k.a. "enhancements") in business and personal travel.

What has to change on FlyerTalk?

On the technical side, I still feel the mobile access needs to be further addressed. It's gotten a little better, but there's still work that needs to be done. On the content side, there's a need for better housekeeping and easier reading in high-traffic forums, such as the United Mileage Plus Forum. Doing so would make FT a little more easier to access and easier to read.

What do you like best about FlyerTalk?

The camaraderie. While the participation in Randy's free trip to the Star Alliance DO was a very good thing, the feeling I enjoy is the helpfulness and willingness among other to share and report experiences. There have been so many times when I read the experience of others, that make me feel I'm not such a dweeb after all. That is, until I sing Muskrat Love in the shower.

State a platform motto or goals for FlyerTalk for the future.

Free hookers and blow if you vote for me.

Okay, maybe not.

But seriously, in some forums on FlyerTalk, we give the wrong impression to new contributors about our community. I would like to be a part of the effort to better streamline existing threads and topics. Thus, making FT easier to read and better for not just new participants, but to make things even better for long-time contributors.

Name your three favorite forums and why.

1. United Mileage Plus. Nowadays, I look intently there to find out the details on what's going on with the CO/Star Alliance thing, plus what I think is the impending merger. I also use that forum to keep myself grounded. Way too many people feel they are entitled to compensation for the most inane things. Knowing that and its boundaries has made me a better flier, and a better person.

2. Travel Safety and Security. Safe to say there's a perception in the FT community of a lot of wackos in that forum. Sure, there are a couple of unique individuals there, it's so helpful to read the information from the people from the TSA in there. The security rules change almost daily, and I couldn't imagine keeping my sanity without knowing all the constant changes.

3. Travel Technology. Did you know that you can exchange your old Bose QC2 headsets for the new QC15s? Neither did I until I read that forum. I'm also the type of person who likes to let others, okay....guinea pigs...test out stuff before I buy things.
