In Brief: Flight Attendant Fired After Admitting to Stealing Passenger’s Camera

After he recently admitted to stealing a passenger’s camera and selling it on eBay, a Ryanair flight attendant was terminated and sentenced to complete 100 hours of community service. Reports claim the passenger, Aaron Galloway, left the Nikon SLR camera on his seat and when he called to check if the camera had been discovered, the flight attendants denied seeing any sign of it.

The offender, Fernando Miguel Andrade Viseu, admitted to stealing the SLR when Galloway found the device on eBay three days later, with the auction date starting the day he lost it. In addition to the community service, the court is requiring Viseu to attend a drug rehabilitation program and pay a fine of nearly $220.
