British Airways and Lufthansa are targeting high-end Indian flyers with special fares and products.

Two European airlines are targeting India with special fares and product offerings on flights. The Times of India reports both British Airways and Lufthansa have announced special incentives on flights originating in India, from the addition of luxury seats to deals on airfare.

According to the report, British Airways is offering up to 20 percent off Club World seats on flights from select airports in India to destinations in North America. The airline told the newspaper that India is a continually strong market, and the sale on its business-class fares is the company’s way of showing appreciation for the country.

“[2014] is a special year for us at British Airways as we celebrate 90 years in India,” said British Airways RCM Christopher Fordyce. “We want to thank our customers with a great chance to indulge themselves and enjoy unmatched service on board British Airways.”

Lufthansa is also targeting the Indian market with the global rollout of its premium economy class on its route from Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The carrier plans to roll out the product across every long-haul route in India next year. The existing Lufthansa route from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) to BLR was among the first in the world to feature the enhanced class.

The promotions by British Airways and Lufthansa are part of a larger trend of luxury airlines focusing on India. Other airlines that previously introduced premium products and airfare sales in India include Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines.
