A new crowdsourcing app aims to help travelers better prepare for long wait times at airport security checkpoints, thereby reducing the odds of missing their flights.

One of the most frustrating experiences for any traveler — whether a frequent flyer or someone brand new to the skies — is getting through an airport’s checkpoint. Checkpoint lines that move slowly often result in missed flights, frustration and a lot of anxiety.

Now there’s a way you can plan ahead for slow security line with a new app that allows you to check the wait times at 54 of the world’s busiest airports. MiFlight, which Miego Apps released on the iTunes store earlier this year, relies on crowdsourcing for information, prompting users to input their own wait times so the next passengers can prepare accordingly. This information can then be shared across social media channels and via email.

Apple device users can download MiFlight for free and search airports by city, state, country or IATA code. The app also provides maps and information about airport terminals.
