Returned back to the Andaz Weho for a one night stay.

The first thing I noticed is that the clientle has gone significantly downmarket. Despite the check in agent saying since the Hyatt Century City has closed all of the Hyatt Diamonds have moved to the Andaz, the foyer was full of drunk tourists who reeked in the elevators.

Putting a permnanent step and repeat in the lobby for guest's to take selfies with kind of says it all...

The duty manager came out to greet us and escort us to out rooms which was a nice touch.

We needed a late check out of 8PM so booked two nights instead of one.

The stay was fine but on Saturday I wanted a quick swim before heading on our flight to SYD. Got up to the pool deck but there was not a single place to sit. It appeared to be locals rather than guests. This is one area that the hotel needs to improve. They should at least reserve the cabanas for in house guests or even charge for them. When a guest can't use the hotel pool because of crowding it's not really a feature one can enjoy.

Room

They fact they provide earplugs now clearly means lots of guests complain of noise. The suites are still great and don't appear to have aged.

Dining

Breakfast was a high standard even if the staff were run off their feet.

Overall

It's still my go to in LA.
