Frankfurt Advents Do, 1 - 3 December 2006

Frankfurt Advents DO
01 – 03 December 2006

Last year we have had a small Frankfurt Advents Do in December. During the year, cathaana and I were asked if there will be another Do in December 2006.

After some planning, we now could proudly announce the second Frankfurt Advents DO on 01 – 03 December 2006.

Here is the schedule for this weekend.

Friday, 01 December 2006

Dinner

Meeting at 20.00 (8.00 pm) in the lobby of the ArabellaSheraton Grand. We are heading for dinner to a restaurant. We will decided right at the evening, where we will go, depending on the number of people.

As a sidenote, I will arrive at 19.00 at FRA and therefore it is for me a bit of a rush. I might be some minutes late, but I might contact the front desk in this case.

Saturday, 02 December 2006

During this time, the Frankfurt Christmas Market takes place. If you are looking for some presents, you could have a look at the Christmas Market on Saturday Noon / Afternoon. There are several nice caf to have a cup of coffee or tea or just relax in you hotel room. We will post some information about exhibitions in the Frankfurter Museums in this time in the next days.

Drinks

Instead of drinks in a bar we thought about a glass of Glhwein at the "Weihnachtsmarkt".
Meeting Point will be 16.50 (4.50 p.m.) in the lobby of the ArabellaSheraton Grand (which is at Konstablerwache). We then will head together to Christmas Market.

We will head then to dinner right from the Weihnachtsmarkt.

Dinner
19.30 (7.30 pm) Malepartus, traditional German Restaurant.

I will pick up late arriving people in the lobby of the ArabellaSheraton at 19.10 (7.10 pm) sharp.

how to get there if you are later than that:
U 6 (in direction Ostbahnhof) to stop Frankfurt Zoo
change here to
tram 14 (in direction Ernst May Platz) to stop Freiligrathplatz
three minutes to walk in direction of tram, restaurant is on the left side
or
U 4 / U 7 (in direction Einkheim / Seckbacker Landstrae) to stop Bornheim Mitte

!!! Malepartus is not accepting credit cards !!!

Sunday, 03 December 2006

11.30 am
Advents Brunch in the Frankfurt Airport Sheraton

what sort of Brunch will it be?
See Post 95 and post 94 for a description.

(we will meet in the lobby at the Sheraton; Meeting time is 11.15 in the lobby)

Information about Frankfurt

Frankfurt Tourism
Cultur in Frankfurt, incl. museums and galleries
RMW - Public Transportation Network.
Frankfurt Airport.

Habe also a look at the post of KathyWdrf in this thread ^

There is taking place a Whisky Fair in the Intercontinental Hotel during our Do. Entrance Fee is 10 EUR.

Hotels

All major hotel chains have hotels in Frankfurt. Public transportation is very good, so even hotels a bit far away from city centre (e.g. ArabellaSheraton Kongre; Holiday-Inn City South Conference Center) are not really a problem.

Hmmmm... seriously tempted! This would be my first-ever FT do; have managed to resist so far.

Will give it some thought - won't be able to make a decision for a couple of weeks as I've got other commitments to fit in.

I have updated the first post with a list of hotel, reviews and location, as there is no "hotel central" for this Do.

Still researching the various hotel possibilities....

Update: my airfare dropped by $68 to $540 and I refared it.

Thanks FLYGVA and cathaana for organising this!

airoli made me aware of this event (I really have to look into this CummunityBuzz section more often...) and after having to miss the DO in LON I realized that a no-show here would be not an option...

So I tried to rearrange my schedule; however - I won't be able to be with you the whole time as I have to attend a course on Saturday. BUT, I can definitely take the first flight from FDH to FRA on Sunday morning, arriving in Frankfurt at 07:05 am so I would be able to join you for the Advents Brunch.

If that's fine with you too, count me in! (+1). ^
