Stay twice at any of our hotels between now and 26th November 2012* and you'll earn a bonus of 5,500 points or 1,000 airline miles.
If you wish, you can also make another two stays during that time to earn a total of 11,000 points or 2,000 airline miles.

No, it's a trap for the unaware (as you apparently are).
You can either earn 2000 bonus miles or 11000 bonus points. Have you checked out how many miles those 11000 points will convert to? I'm not sure in what increments, maybe only multiples of 8000, but at any rate, 8000 of those points will convert to 3200 miles.
So if you choose points and convert, you'll have 3200 miles, not 2000, and have 3000 points left over.
If you collect miles directly, yes, you will only get 2000 miles. So why collect miles directly in this case???
However, having said that, this promo still seems weaker than the concurrent Choice "take 2 trips, get 1 night" promo. While that doesn't get you 1 night anywhere with just 2 stays, it does get you 8000 points, and there are hotels (especially overseas) which during certain periods of the year (shoulder season?) are only 8000 points/night despite sometimes being well over $200/night.
OTOH, 5500 bonus points (adding up to at least 6000 presumably based on the "base" points of the two stays) is enough for a free night at hardly any hotels in the WyndhamRewards family.
The only thing is that the Choice promo ends mid-November, and so this WyndhamRewards promo runs about a week-plus longer than that. So if you needed two to four stays the week of Thanksgiving, then this promo might make some sense (because the better Choice promo would have ended by then).

I'm not aware of "great" values in the WYndhamRewards system (low point requirements for high cash properties) the way Choice has all those 8k/night properties in Europe (at least during frequent shoulder season sales) and all those 16k/night properties in western Norway that cost $200++/night cash.
And read post 3 above again, carefully. The max (for 4 stays) is 11k points bonus, not 16k!

While they may work, I suggest you do the math carefully and figure out whether it's really worth it do pay for a hotel you don't need to get this few point. Remember, you have to pay for 4 separate stays to max out this bonus (at 11k, not 16k). Can you really get a WynhdamRewards propety (that you need) for the number of points you earn from 4 no-show stays (probably about 12k to 13k total) that would have cost you signficantly more (in cash) than those 4 no-show stays?

The first is a Targeted 16,000 each stay up to 3 stays at certain properties
The second is the fall promo 5,500 for 2 stays
The promo's should stack, they did for the summer promo, so no show 3 times and get 48,000 bonus + 5,500 bonus
and if the fourth night is booked then another 5,500 bonus

Since you earn the bonus on every other stay, I'm not sure, though whether it matters or not what your earning preference is set to on the "qualifying" (non-bonus-earning) stays (stay 1 and stay 3). It definitely matters how your earning preference iset on stays 2 and 4.
