Wyndham Timeshare Pitch... any experience

DH made a ressie yesterday for Wyndham and then got transferred to an offering for a 3 night stay in SanDiego for $199. Usually he doesn't even pay any attention to these things but he contacted me since we're planning on being in San Diego this August and the prices we're getting aren't as cheap as I'd like for the quality of accomodations. That said I'm (A) wondering if the hotels are "legit" since there aren't any Wyndham's in SD other than the timeshare location in GasLamp area. OK I know there are some of the lower end places but I'm hoping not to stay there... and (B) how hard sell are the pitches (supposed to be 120 mins and then get the $199 back when you leave. We probably will have the 2 hrs to kill but don't know if we'll be held hostage. Also since we're from CT we've usually get an offering without HAVING to do the pitch.
Any feedback is welcome.

I'm a wyndham timeshare owner and have attended several more each time I stay at one of the properties. The freebies are always nice.

A. I can't comment on the hotels they may put you up in because I've always stayed at one of the timeshare properties.

B. I've had no problems getting out on time, especially when I let it be known upfront that I have another engagement at blank whatever time. The pitch can be hard, but my response has always been, 'gosh really wish I could but the cost just doesn't fit into my financial plans right now. It would be a financial hardship, something you can surely relate to, right?' walk away and collect your goodies. Have fun.

Did the Wyndham SD timeshare thing in January - sales presentation was wretched. Hard sell and insulting. Just tell them you don't sign any contacts to buy any property without your lawyer seeing it first if you don't really want to buy. They hate that. I was there 2 and 1/2 hours. Don't ask any questions and you can probably get out a bit sooner.

To get a good property to stay at, call early - like tomorrow. I called 2 months in advance and availability was already running low on the nicer properties. Tell them you need a "pet friendly" hotel, they will have you call all the available properties yourself to see if they are pet friendly. Only one hotel was - the Sheraton Symphony Hall. Very nice! Gaslamp was nice too but 20.00 for parking, but room was huge - actually had 2 bedrooms.

It's funny how the tone for the timeshare presentations are of a bothersome nature. If you dont like them then dont go. But, you greedy people just want the free gifts. Thats okay because how else would they get you there.

BTW, all of the excuses are known so, saying it would be a hardship or I dont have any money doesn't mean much. We all know that it is a lie and its easy to see and overcome.
