Do Gold members who receive their status via a status match receive the "one companion flight wherever we fly" (which seems like a somewhat useful benefit)?

As to E75K ~ Gold, that is a question for Darren. I would say the spend would be very similar, so why not, but I don't make the rules.
Sorry I should requalify my question. I meant...I did not requalify for gold next year, but I saw the offer. So if I fly once between the dates, do I get Gold next year?

No, I think those are milestone benefits that you have to reach a certain amount of points to get

Yes. It's in the T&C fineprint

Thanks - the website says:

Gold:

1 companion flight anywhere we fly

1 more companion flight at $10,000
+ another companion flight for every $5,000 beyond

...which sounded as if all Gold members got one companion flight, with additional companion flights earnt when crossing certain thresholds.

It's listed under Milestone awards still. So yeah, you have to earn them through spend.

Flight Benefits only for Gold Fastback, Status Match or Easy Renewal

Per the offers for Fastback, Status Match or Easy Renewal, the offer is for Gold Flight Benefits only, not Milestone Benefits.

So no companion tickets or extra % of Westjet dollars.

As a side note - these BOGO certificates are the reason I choose Westjet over Air Canada. From a dollar perspective, it is worth 2000-2500 per year for me. I use my BOGO within Canada on a $700ish flight, and my BOGO anywhere they fly to go to the Caribbean in ultra high season which is anywhere from 1000-2000 per person. Great value.

Does anyone know whether extending Gold via this way get new flight benefits?

If I already used up my 4 advance seat selection vouchers from the last Gold status match, will this get me 4 new ones or is this just a pure extension of the past Gold match? and I just get the Gold benefits (checked bags, priority boarding) until end of 2016?

My wife and I both received gold status through status match and have taken 2-3 round trip flights on Westjet and have two more scheduled before the year end. Neither of us received an offer for an extension of our gold status by taking another flight or $ spend.
Was this promo for ALL current gold or by invitation only!! Any one found a way to get 'invited'!!

I thought it was open to all current gold members. But because it was sent by email, perhaps it was invite only. Maybe Darren can clarify.

That's how I interpreted it: fly once and re qualify.

Westjet status match back on and easy renewal for existing Golds

Although by the look of the OP's email snapshot, it looks like new vouchers won't be issued. Also, it looks like your renewed gold status expires in December and not February 2017.
