Luggage storage at or around DCA?

I have a flight out of DCA in the evening (in about a month from now). I'd like to check out of my hotel, drop my bags off at or near DCA, and then wander DC for the day. DCA's web site indicates that luggage storage isn't possible at the airport any more.

Do I have any options? I could store my bags at my hotel, but I'd prefer not to have to traipse back to the hotel...

That is correct. Redline from Union Station to Yellow line at Gallery Place. Where are you staying. Union Station might be more out of the way than your hotel.

Don't know exactly which hotel yet, but it will be in the Oxon Hill, MD area.

Union Station works OK - It's not far from the mall.

Still don't know where the luggage storage is located though.

I would walk into any of the major hotels like I knew what I was doing and ask to check my bag for the day. Act like you were staying there and just checked out but not flying until later in the day.

this is good advice. The luggage storage in Union Station is a bit expensive. (If I recall, it is by the hour and general size of the bag. My bill for 2 bags for over 4 hours was almost $40). There are plenty of hotels near Union Station (Hyatt, Washington Court, etc) where a good tip would still be much less and still in the same basic location.
Still, if you want to use the luggage storage in Union Station, it is near the departure area for the Amtrak lines. If you are facing all of the Amtrak gates, head to your left till you reach the end of the gates, it directly across from a restroom.

Thanks everyone for all their help. As was stated, the luggage storage at Union Station is at Gate "A" across from the men's room.

I left a rollaboard there yesterday for 6 hours and the cost was $20.
