Premium from Gatwick

Hi All - Input welcomed!!!

Am flying soon from LGW to MCO on VS27, and am using points. As always there was no availaibility in UC as I was booking at short notice (which is understandable), so I ended up booking the outbound in economy. As the date nears, I am beginning to dread the thought of the Y class experience!!

Despite being an FC Gold holder for the fourth consecutive year, I expect nothing helpful from VS in terms of any form of upgrading into Premium (unlike BA who even when I was EC Silver gave upgrades into World Traveller Plus even when the plane was half empty)

I am therefore tempted to use points to fly outbound in Premium, but will only do so if it is the newer Premium seat. Does anybody know if the aircraft at Gatwick have finally been changed to the new seat configuration as yet?? If not I will take the riskl of being subject to VS's world class Gold Card recognition at check in! :-)

Thanks in advance peoples!

None of the LGW fleet have the newest purple leather seats you see on LHR aircraft - in all other regards the PE service and space is the same.

Hi,

Of course on the LGW fleet, a lot of the PE seats are on the Upper Deck which makes the experience a little better.

Regards

As already stated, the LGW 744s still have the red PE seats, and some are on the upper deck. Many passengers prefer the upper deck, but please remember it's not a guarantee that we can seat you upstairs. If you would like, after you make your reservation, call up the res number and have them notate your booking that you would prefer the upper deck.

I hope you have great flights, regardless of your class of service. See you soon.
