SQ Lounge Access, dual programs?

SQ Lounge Access, dual programs?
Hi All,
I'm VA Platinum, frequently flying in SQ now in Premium economy (SYD or MEL to SIN).
The lounge for VA Plats in SIN is rubbish. I can pretty quickly rack up some status with the KrisFlyer program, so I've just signed up for that.
Question: If I fly on my new cardboard Kris status, and flash my VA Platinum card can I still use the rubbish lounge in SIN?

Most lounges just need your number for access, it doesn't have to be on your BP.
My understanding is that KF flyers in economy get the same rubbish lounge in SIN, so hopefully you aren't joining KF just for that! Perhaps PE is different?
KF status will help you a lot elsewhere as many airports VA PLT won't get you into any lounge flying SQ.
