I've just had to sign back upto FT after a long hiatus and a lost password. It's been a long time since I've been to a FT do, but seeing as I've recently re-qualified for VA Gold it's about time to get re-involved in the group.

The new Holiday Inn Express in Brisbane has rates from $107.00 for the 19 August.

I was just looking at that date earlier today. I was checking points + cash but that did not look too enticing.

We'll be there. I am guessing lounge reception will be aware there is a gathering that day?

We are staying at HI Express that night so may check into hotel first and then head down by train. Miss JohnK is looking forward to the gathering already but she usually has a nap around that time so hopefully she falls asleep in the stoller on the way to the airport.

Sorry to being away from this thread for so long.

Have updated the list to here. Will be putting together a list of real names to my VA Lounge Goddess and her team will have the list at the front desk. For those I don't know, please PM me your name.

Upon arrival, advise the front desk staff that you are here to attend the Flyertalk function and give them your name so you can be marked off the list.

There used to be a spot in the "quiet area" in the old VA Lounge set up, but to my knowledge there isn't an official one yet for us. I'd suggest that initially, we look to congregate at the absolute back LHS of the Lounge and we'll work out suitable space threafter.

For those that don't know me, you shouldn't miss me - I'll be the tall one (6' 3") in a white polo with the Flyertalk logo.

Halfway through my 2 hour myki funded journey to the airport at Ascot Vale. Some more minutes on a train and some more on a bus then the purgatorive walk from MEL T4 bus depot.

All seems on time; I should be at BNE by 12:30 ...
