Unnanounced devaluation of Virgin Australia Points today
Virgin Australia appears to have increased its award pricing today 6 June, by approximately 7%.
This effectively devalues the miles in everyone's accounts by 7%
Old/new award pricing econ/(prem econ)/business
0-600 mi: (SYD MEL) was 6,900/(9,000)/13,800 now 7,800 11,700 15,500
1200-2400 mi: (SYD PER) was 16,900/(25,400)/33,800 now 17,800 26,700 35,500
2400-3600: (PER SIN) was 21,300/(35,900)/47,800 now 22,300 (36,700) 49,500
7000-8,500 (SYD LAX): now 44,800 (71,700) 95,500

Domestic upgrades-by-points are unchanged.

Well, actually, the new redemption rates kicked in on June 1, and were announced back in February

My 'pet' redemption being Z class between LAX and Oz has gone up by 1500 points to 95500.
Strangely enough this helps (or at least become less painful) because with my LAX-xSYD/BNE-MEL preference +++ is about $59, to reduce it below $50 it 'only' costs an additional 1450 points or so. ($50+ become $80+ with a $30 CC service fee).
