I am flying MEL-SYD-AUH on EY so will need to transfer @ SYD

1. Can the VA check-in desk in MEL give me the tickets for ALL flights ?
2. What is the procedure for transferring between DOM and INT @ SYD
3. Will my bags be checked @ MEL all the way to AUH

I normally only fly QF so this is new to me

At MEL Domestic T3 VA have a check in desk for "Domestic connection to International".

Use this and they should issue both BP's.

They will be given to you in a purple or red VA BP folder which has a tear off trip - that is the transfer ticket, so hang on to these.

When you arrive in SYD T2, head to gate 44 and downstairs for the international transfer bus. When boarding the bus you will need to surrender the tear off in lieu of the fare. The bus is actually the SYD "T-Bus" so it will take you out land-side, pick up other $ paying transfer PAX from T2 and then T3 before heading over to international.

From there you need to go through emigration and security to International departures.

You luggage will be checked though and you wont see it in SYD.

Ok, You have lounge access in MEL which is landside at T3 - they have a premium security through to gates 1-10 being the pier most SYD flights depart from.

You'll also have access to the EY Business lounge at SYD (not First), being on Etihad metal. (http://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en...lounge-access/)
