Business clas LAX to SYD what seats to get

Hello,

Just got a couple of seats booked through Delta and i was wondering what seats to request . Traveling with a friend.

I have the choice to return from Brisbane and spend a few days in the Gold Cost area. Any input form the locals?? Do you think that is worth a visit? We could book a cheap pne way tocket from SYD to Brisbane or Gold Coast airport. Some friends told me that it was like Miami(i am not very fond if it)!!

Thanks for any help

Are you travelling on the VA 773ER or the DL 772LR? I have no idea about DL metal, but can happily recommend row 5 on VA's 773ER - great for privacy, close proximity to the bar for socialising etc..

I highly recommend row 5 too if you can get it. They do charge a premium for it but worth a try if you can manage it - we managed to get it without paying extra MEL-LAX and back because we had an infant (keeping the noise away from the other passengers).

I had 1K BNE-LAX a little while back and I loved it. You're at the bulkhead, so no one in front and as the rows are staggered, 1J/K are effectively behind the other seats in Row 1, so no one can see you eating, sleeping, watching TV. There are a few 'Twister' movements required to get in/out of bed and over your neighbour (but if you know them its no big deal). 1K is also the best seat for sleeping IMHO, very private. You also get 3 windows.

Row 5 is also very private as it is by itself behind curtains, but it's also behind door 2L. I like the idea, but I wouldnt want to be curtained off and behind the rest of J and in front of PE, but that's just me.

As for visiting Brisbane and the Gold Coast, absolutely! If you have the chance book a DJ SYD-OOL flight then catch the train up here to BNE, spend a couple of days then head back.

The Gold Coast is indeed very similar to the South of Florida. If you would like to see a more beautiful coastline, go to the Sunshine Coast, which is north of Brisbane.

that may be the case for the north end of the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise itself, however the southern end (near to the airport) from Currumbin down and the Northern NSW coastline down to past Byron is far superior to the Sunshine Coast - and I speak from having been a resident of both Coasts...

My dates will fall into the time when the schoolies are out and i was told that they take over the Gold/Sunshine coast. Loud parties all over !! Not my idea of a relaxing holiday!
I have called Delta and they will get me a stop over in Sydney. Continue to Cairns and then fly back to the US via Brisbane.
I hope that Cairns won't get the same crowds !!

We ended up with seats 3H and 3K. Behind these seats i see the closet and a lavatory. Any idea if there is noise from that bathroom getting to these seats?
Just accessed our booking through Virgin Australia's website using their own record locator and saw the remaining open seats. Not much left!!

Thanks for any advise if some of you have had these seats!

Seats 1A/C?

Anyone have any comments on these seats? I'll attempt to get 1H/K when I book but am wondering if these would be best for a plan B. (I am assuming I won't be in row 5).

But if one is in row 5 how is the onboard service performed? What risk is there of being served last with no meal choices? etc.

I've never had any problem with meal choices - only ever flown in Row 5. I believe (not sure but from observation) they have different attendants working different parts of the cabin so orders aren't taken front to back or vice versa.

Just booked 3 J tickets traveling to Sydney. Which seats are best when traveling in a group of 3? I would like to avoid row 5 as the idea of being separated from the rest of the cabin doesn't really sound appealing.

If travelling as a group of 3 the middle seats are the obvious place to go. I'm a row 5 fan so can't speak for the rest of the cabin unfortunately.
